Marty Qatani, cartoonist, humorous illustrator and freelance graphic artist.
My major influences include the Fillmore/60's RockPosters of Rick Griffin, Stanley Mouse, Alton Kelley, and so many others...., Berke Brethed, Gary Trudeau, Bill Waterson, Hanna Barbera cartoons from the 60's, Vintage Rock and Jazz Album covers, art that I come across and just think is too cool to just walk by, and I've recently rediscovered the animation art from the Fleischer Studios.... amazing stuff.
I believe that an original and smartly designed character can do wonders as a representative of a company or a product. Currently I work on staff with a large upstate New York screen print shop, whose clients include businesses and Universities nationwide, as well as agencies whose clients include Coca Cola, Owens Corning, Rockstar Games, and UPS to name a few.
Some of my recent freelance work includes designs for game boards, t-shirt design, and character design. I am also fine tuning several original character properties that I plan on introducing to the Licensing industry.
I work on a Mac (No, I don't create my art on the computer. My work starts out on paper and is scanned into the computer and "enhanced"). I work primarily in Illustrator and Photoshop.
So if your business or next project needs a little character ( sorry.... couldn't resist...), drop me an email or phone call... I'd love to discuss it with you.
